I got all-you-can-eat sushi... OM NOM NOM NOM... and the next weekend, the in-laws took both me and  kanis to see the Cirque de Soleil's new show, OVO (a hatchday prezzie for him, too- his is on Cinco De Mayo). Heh, eggs- and hatchdays. Those folks understand. >^__^<

Well, it's kind of a new thing for me, too- people didn't often make any fuss over my hatchday until relatively recently, so you're not alone, there. *huggles*

*huggles* Yeah, and it especially blows when you have to work... I've had to work my past 3 birthdays at my job, and no one really knew or gave a crap. At home it's pretty quiet too, and not many of my friends really say anything either, both in real life or on the internets. Then again my birthday is less than a month from Xmas, so people's minds are probably elsewhere

Um, these aren't the, uh, "special" brownies, are they? It was fun, actually: we hooked up with some local fur-buddies,  stegosaurus and  sagehendrix (we only got to huggle our other pal, Pony, but he was on his way elsewhere) then went to an all-you-can-eat-sushi place where they fed us grand sushi and sashimi, nearly making  sagehendrix nearly explode, plus, they made a silly fuss with lights, rave music and dancing sushi-chefs over my birthday, topping it off with fried green-tea ice-cream, whipped cream and a wee candle. It was awesome. We went shopping at Jo-Anne's (got some really cool, sixties-themed pin-wale corduroy. Lastly, we hit a place called Clarke's nutrition to get some stuff. I came out of there with the omega-3 capsules I originally wanted and also with coconut spread that tastes amazing (like butter with a coconut hint- yummeh), some pine-nuts, dried blueberries, and the most awesome trail-mix with cranberries and macadamia nuts.... *droooools* Then, we went to look at some houses (we're looking for a place to buy, instead of rent, this time), got lost on some crazy, muddy back-roads (I live in definite Hill-billy heaven up here), met some friendly neighbours who gave us tips on how to get out of the spot we were in (it's a common scene, apparently- folks get stuck up there all the time. LOL), and promptly got lost trying to get out of the area. *cackles* Only drawback, poor  sagehendrix got car-sick with all the bouncing around on "unimproved" roads (IE: not paved).

Was a good, day, all around.

LOL only if I hit up the neighbors will they be "special" brownies. I like to call them the "non-Alice B Toklas brownies" If you get the ref. 1,000 points to you! Sounds like you had a blast at the sushi place, Jo-Anne's and Clarke's! I need to try to hit a Jo-Anne's myself to get some felt squares to add a inside of a mouth to my Kikir head. >:D Oh I know EXACTLY what you mean by the roads. To give you an example of where we are, the street off of ours there is a person with goats in the backyard. Once we're done buying our house, if I wanted some livestock in the backyard I could do it. LOL VERY sorry to sagehendrix getting car sick! OH noes!

Awww, poot. I thought for sure I'd gotten it! I'd never heard the term anywhere else, you see. And I rarely see Peter Sellers films- not my thing, really. I do enjoy them, though, but I have to be a in the right mood for that type of humour. Complex pratfalls generally fall flat for me, if you'll pardon the pun. *cringes*

Anyway, hunt up the song, I bet you'll get a chortle out of it- it's done to the tune of "Monster Mash", obviously. LOL

Indeed! *huggles* People are becoming more aware- in a good way, I've noticed, so I have some hope, yet.

*huggles back* Awareness at the personal level is critical. But the schizophrenia at the upper echelons of "our" (yeah right!) government is starting to bite. I have hope, myself; but it involves humanity standing up for our own damned rights instead of letting ourselves be trampled on like mere meatbags.

I do notice this about those scary sociopathic money-bags in power currently- they're all OLD. They should be dying off, soon, and the younger, hopefully saner, kids will be taking over.

Too little too late. Need to get rid of them in a much more expedite fashion. ;)

Well, I doubt there will be a plague any time soon that will target just fat, old rich white guys... *snerk* Frankly, I suspect their own unhealthy lifestyles will get them in the end, despite all the money they have to pay for the best health-care we can only dream of.
