I've since learned that the law is on my side.
As the no snake rule is an addendum, one added after I got Evergreen, it can only prevent me from getting a new snake, and cannot be retroactive. Evergreen was 'grandfathered in', so I cannot be forced to get rid of her.

She specified we're not signing a new lease each year, but extending what we aleady agreed to years ago.
