I heard about this when it happened, was surprised that others hadn't, so I'm going to share it here.

Paypal is SERIOUSLY overreaching. if they're going to act like this about *erotica*, imagine how they're going to act about transactions for ART? In case you don't think this affects furry porn, read this part in particular: "Smashwords will no longer allow authors to sell erotica featuring "pseudo-incest" (between stepchildren and step-parents, for instance) or "shape-shifters in paranormal romance" engaging in sex while in "were-creature" form. Smashwords' new guidelines apply only to works labelled as "erotica," so other genres (including your Woody Allen biography) are okay. For now." Note the shape shifters and the "sex while in were-creature" form. That's what we all boil down to eventually - "were-creatures". Please sign the petition to get paypal to stop being so frakking evil, pass this on, and consider a different payment service if at all possible. I know the others aren't very large yet, but if we actually flood away from paypal... who knows.
