how much do you think a ref off a description would run?

Depends on what you mean with a ref, do you mean a single picture of a full body of your character?

If it's just a single picture, since it's my first commission i'd keep it cheap, 10$ for a lineart, 15$ for flat colours and 20$ for a full colour picture with shadows and lights etc etc (all of these a full body of course).
