Sushi Pack

Let me tell you about a failed fandom I had. Sushi Pack was an animated E/I kids show by DIC/Cookie Jar Entertainment. It was part of CBS' KEWLopolis Saturday morning cartoons block through out its run from 2007 to 2009. And around that first season or so I took an interest in it. From the character design of the show, I was hooked. It was very nice stylized anime/cartoon artwork style. Then I watched an episode, AND RECOILED IN HORROR. The writing and plots were'nt much more than the usual kid show tropes with the usual kid show character reactions. What I found most groan worthy was the packaging of the moral lessons. E/I or not there was no subtly or complexity to that part of the plot line. I know it's meant for a very young audience, but it seemed dumbed down to me. That's a shame because it seems so much more could have been done with the material than just a two season run on CBS. While writing this entry I tried watching the first episode on YouTube, and even these years later there's nothing there to pull me in. With the exception of one of it's characters being a obscure Tara Strong voice acting role. Here's the link if you want to watch episode 1 yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHPaZmtuOrQ

The finished drawing of my new Irken sexpot Nix http://supra80.deviantart.com/art/W.....ixxx-284549638 is in Photoshop now getting some color splashed on her. Expect that to be done on this weekend. Also a newly embraced fandom I've gotten into will be bringing in some new fanart. I'll go into what that is in another entry later on (though I've dropped a few hints). I'll also be bringing back to at least one of my original anime/manga characters for some art work too http://supra80.deviantart.com/art/M.....ammer-69049803
