FWA

Bills, bills, bills. So, stuff for sale: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4010220/
Sorry for my long absence. Lots of things going on IRL, some I mentioned in earlier journals and some not. Between that and my useless muse I haven't produced any art since my tablet quit working. Well other than the occasional doodle on notes.
I hope FWA will help get my creative juices flowing again. Alas I will only be there from Friday night to Sunday night, since I have class every day of the week, and of course our spring break was LAST week. Sigh.
If I owe you any kind of art and you will be attending FWA please drop me an email at sierratac [at] yahoo [dot] com so we can arrange to meet up. I will draw in your sketchbook if you like, or I can just do it on separate paper. I also still have card decks available if anyone would like to purchase one for $25 ($5 off since no shipping necessary).
I'm going to try to be in Artist's Alley a lot, look for my rainbow dash hoodie (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6779562). I also want to bring Bill since it's been awhile, but with the limited time it may not happen.

FA+

It's looking like I'll be at FWA this year so can catch up with you then, but if you're able to have my badge ready it would be great. I'm a very no-pressure kinda dragon so is all good, I may even manifest some starbucks or somethin to help fuel the artist :} Hope everything has been well for you since last cone and that your trip up this year is less adventurous than last!
'cone' = 'con'
I really hope this posts right.. I'm unsure how well FA is going to handle this list :)

General Form

Carenath is a medium bronze dragon typically in non-anthro stance. Visually he would be perceived as half a man taller than the average human when in his non-anthro stance and with a semi-stocky but slender build.

Pose :

Curls laying down with wings relaxed, holding a cup of coffee, semi-possesively with a friendly smile but with a hint of suspicion as though he's guarding his precious coffee. His tail relaxed along front of him.

Text :

As we discussed, `Carenath` may be spelled out beneath him. I leave you to your creativity as to how you would like to accomplish it but one idea I would have might be to have it staggered as though he's laying across the letters. Whichever you think would look the best :}

Eyes :

Carenath's eyes are generally a deep but light blue, though shift slightly based upon mood. They have a prismatic look to them, though there does appear a shift in color where an pupil would be.

Scales :

Carenath's scales I would define as a sort of medium density. They run thicker along the body, finer down the neck and almost smooth down the throat. Their coloration along the body is a medium bronze, with an almost metallic cream down the neck, throat and belly following through under his tail to the point of taper where they meet the somewhat more flexible but denser scales. An easy way to regard it would be the deepness of the bronze is directly proportionate to the density of the scales.

Claws :

Carenath's claws are of an Onyx like appearance, a dull shine to them as though an unpolished smooth stone.

Wings :

Carenath's wings would be easily described as batlike in design. They have a total of four branches spanning off from the primary joint, with the membrane connecting back to the limb, extending partially below its adjoining point on his side. The membrane itself would be a lighter bronze than the body but darker than the neck/throat area, it has a semi-translucent quality to it when stretched creating a pearlescent translucency. At the wing joint there is a claw attached, with smaller at each of the lower connecting points.

Tail :

Carenath's tail is slender and efficient, approximately 3/4 the length of his main body. The scales covering it primarily are thick but short and interlocking allowing for flexibility. The end of his tail does not have a space but rather what appears to be a cap composed of thick scales doubling back giving it a firm smooth tip. This tip section is a very light bronze with black lines up its length and for scale if the tail were 10 inches in length this tip scale would be only a quarter inch.

Ear Flaps :

Oh... the earflaps. So, these were another embellishment made by Oxa who drew this for me, and they did grow on me a bit :) I'm inclined to stick with them as I like the look, I'm not sure where the green came from outside of it working as a complimentary color for how he drew this. I would be inclined to leave you artistic license how you would like to handle the shading, it stands to reason the flaps themselves are the same shade of scale as the other head scales.

Horns :

Carenath's horns are short, probably twenty percent the length of his head by contrast. They are a cream white and lean back in a smooth contour along his head. They're prominent only when the earflaps expose them, else they would be noticeable but not stand out necessarily. Again I leave you artistic license with the prominence of the horns :)

Spines/Claws/Etc :

Most of this has been detailed above, however, for the sake of amusement and because I like the way Oxa handled it, I'd add in there to keep the glasses :}

I will add here that you are the artist, and I'm paying for your time, but also for your creativity. If you have an interesting idea that's just your style in art, I'm not going to complain so long as the general spirit of the description is followed :)
