Superiority Complex
It must be emphasized that:
We are not an official Church of Satan group. We are not here on behalf of the Church of Satan. We are not a "Satanic Community."
We are a group on FurAffinity that are made up of individuals who follow the Church of Satan and the works of Anton LaVey.
I've noticed this for a while now. Most Christians I know seem to have a superiority complex about them just because of their faith. Every time they wanted to do something that was 'wrong' they would always say "But that wouldn't be Christian of me." and they would do the 'right' thing instead. There have also been countless times where I would hear people say "that's not Christian" or "being a Christian I..." and many other references where they would have to point out that they're Christian. Like that somehow makes them a better person in some way or another. Now I know not every Christian feels and thinks this way.
This got me wondering; how may of us Satanists feel superior to anyone else just because of what we choose to believe in.
I would like to point out that as Satanists we are neither superior nor inferior to our fellow man. What we choose to believe in (creed), race, sexual orientation or any other irrelevant trait, are not grounds to say "we are better". The only thing that should distinguish us from one another ARE OUR ACTIONS.

P.S. This is not a stab at Christianity or grounds to start flaming anyone.
Please keep mud slinging and christian bashing out of the comments.

Not as a Satanist per se, but as an atheist, I would be under the assumption Satanists generally don't have a superiority complex, at least not one relative to Chistians'. First of all, isn't there a very clear rule for Satanists that pretentiousness isn't tolerated? If so, then the very doctrines of Satanism would condemn this sort of behavior from the get go. Of course, not everyone follows scripture verbatim, especially in a religion founded on the very idea of rebellion. Speaking of which, as a Satanist, wouldn't one of the implied goals be to avoid Christian-like behavior as much as possible, within reason? Even without the aforementioned rule in place, Satanists should be naturally inclined to avoid the same kind of superiority complex as they perceive some Christians to have. After all, wouldn't a person be more inclined to become a Satanist or at least anti-christian after witnessing such behavior?
Also, consider the following: most satanists don't hold high levels of power or prestige, are generally not considered a part of the upper class and usually are not particularly affluent. Because Satanists don't hold much power relative to other religious groups (or even individual people), they have little wriggle room to argue their superiority. They are under the control of someone with more power and prestige than they are in their workplace; telling that person off, in an extreme circumstance, would jeopardize their well being. Even from a pragmatic perspective, let's say a Satanist of a lower income bracket claims superiority over a Christian or a person of another religion in a higher income bracket. Again, not a lot of wriggle room because the Satanist has less "proof" of their success and without practical evidence of success in regards to the ideology, the ideology itself loses credibility in the eye of the beholder. This is the same reason why philosophers and socialists aren't as highly regarded or popular as Christians and Capitalists: the former may have sound reasoning against the status quo, but may struggle or put less consideration into how they're going to keep a roof above their head or how they can retire. The latter don't have to worry about life or anything thereafter, and their time is spent securing their future.
This is also the same reason why Islam became popular, gathering multiple egalitarian societies into one mutually peaceful society in Mecca, where trade and schooling prospered, inter-societal violence ceased, and the new theology united everyone under a common belief.
Any religion that starts with practical success in real world politics, society and/or economics will continue to be popular no matter what the ideology is.
Hail Baby Jesus ! and God!
