Blasting wtf are they doing bombing the street? shouldnt need explosives for road construction :L

They want to widen the road and make it four lanes instead of two. To do that, they've got to cut through a couple of solid limestone hills.

I live in a moderately rural area, too, so it's not like this is in the middle of a city or anything.

Heh, try having construction workers building a house or whatever they're building right next to your bedroom window...that's what's been happening at my house for the past several days...I've been woken up at 8 AM with some type of construction noise ever since some guys have been working on a "project" at first it was a bulldozer, then it was a cement mixer, and now it's hammers and nails...I hope they're finished with what ever they're working on soon, since I haven't been able to sleep in in days, and I hate it...

I'm sure they would, though I can't see it, myself. For the amount of traffic the road carries, two lanes is plenty, and all they're doing is destroying what's left of a couple of hills and causing endless traffic flow problems while they take their sweet time about finishing up. Ah well, what do I know?

Hmm, and somehow I'm thinking it would make a great short about a war veteran who was reminded of their time in the field by the distant sounds.

That's an idea I could play with, certainly. I was leaning more in the direction of a sci-fi, alien invastion/zombie apocalypse sort of deal. But I think I've been watching too many awful late-night movies lately.

I think that an alien/zombie situation would be pretty fun to write too. =)
