I've seen a couple other people do this meme before, and I thought I'd give it a try.

Partly because they aren't common in the fandom- aside from meerkats, have you ever met a mongoose?
Rikki Tikki Tavi made a strong impression on me long before I ever heard of Rudyard Kipling, and I became a fan of Kipling long before I knew that he had written the jungle book, or that Rikki's story was part of it.
I have a couple snakes, too, and though none are poisonous, I've been bitten by all of them at least once, and by some of them many more times than once. XD [fun fact- one of my snakes was born on April 20th!]
So it just seemed to fit. I'm not any specific type of mongoose- I took elements from a couple different types and made it up from there. I think it's more fun that way.

Unfortunately here in the bible belt it's hard enough to find stuff without seeds. Stuff with a name is really rare. We did actually get some good Maui back in september, but I think it's long gone by now. *tear*
