FWA 2012 recap!
FWA was AWESSOOOOOME! I had a BLAST! This is the first year I went were I didnt drink any booze, and I had a much better time than I did before.
The way there: I rode with
Nothing really exciting happened, we left 2 hours LATE because someone wasnt ready.... at all. I HATE waiting on people, next time it happens, someone's getting left. Next part! In SC, we get off the highway for a pee and snack break. Lowe and behold, a tipped over truck! Yippee, excitement! So, like any other red blooded American male, I walk over, snap a picture with my phone, and leave. It looked like it was full of BMW parts, but I'm not certain.
Arrival: We hit some traffic in the ATL city limits, but nothing that was really too bad. We arrive, get our parking space, and wonder off to the con. I managed to get checked in around noonish, which was awesome, because we could just unload and go straight from there.
Day 1: Friday, after unpacking, I get my credentials and begin exploring! I got a pic from
of me eating some Chik-fil-a, which absolutely awesome! He was my Chik-fil-a buddy this con. I spent a majority of the day just walking around. Wet to the improv show, which was really good! I had some lulz.
got sick, big time, it was described as "The Battle of the Bulge", which aint good.
Day 2: I'm the first one up, so I'm stepping over everyone in order to leave when I want to. I head down, and commission a few artists. The evening was the best part, though, me and a BUNCH of NC furs raided the diner up the hill. I think us NCers had more presence there, or close to it, than any other state, and we all stuck together. After dinner, I went to see 2's show, which was really good. After that, me and
go to artists alley to draw for a little bit. I bought along my airport wands (the get your attention/aircraft guiding utensils), one of which apparently busted a battery, so acid started leaking everywhere. That was fun!
Day 3: CHIK-FIL-A IS CLOSED.... FUUUUUUUUUUdge. Oh well, I ate a couple of Krispy Kreme's instead, which were expensive! I then went back to artists alley to see if I can get some last day commissions, which I did! I got an AWEOME picture by
, she was also a blast to talk to, and really sweet. I stood there for at LEAST an hour talking to her and
about random things, one of which was New Jersey and how they dont sell clothes on sunday in some towns. Dear New Jersey... just please... separate from the rest of the country.... you too, California.
the ride home: Very uneventful.
was pretty much mouthgasming over some arby's sandwich and french fries, while I chugged down some fries and a drink!
All in all, it was a great con! I heard hints about next years theme, which I got pissed off at. Dear FWA staff, please get smart and change the theme! No one wants some Valentines bull crap!
Thanks to all my friends, new and old who mad this con an absolute blast! Next stop, AC!

Hehe yeah... sorry for being late to come get you. It annoyed me too, and I'll do my best to make it not happen next year. For what it counts, we still got there before noon, so we didn't miss anything. ^^
