icon removal! >.<

So- got a note from a mod, saying my bouncing ninja icon was "sexually suggestive in some nature"

I had been wondering about whether or not the icon was considered safe or not. I guess not, lol! but it would have been NICE if the mods answered my note from TEN MONTHS AGO when i ASKED ABOUT MY ICON!!!!
looking at the sent notes (i still have a copy) i can see that it wasn't even read. YAY MOD SERVICE!
Here's a copy of my note that i sent them the day that they put up the new icon policy:
"It's fairly simple: Is my icon considered too 'sexually suggestive'? and if so, what could I do to make it more acceptable?
I had thought of getting the bounce lessened, shrinking the boobs and also covering them up a bit more...
But I am afraid that if i did all of this, it would still be inappropriate. Can you give me advice?"
feh. I got plenty of other avatars that are not 'sexually explicit'... i hope. This plushie icon does have small, plushie boobs after all XD

FA is not solely and only a porn site. There's a lot of general/non-porn art posted. And there are minors who use the site. So your argument is null :3

I would call it hypocrisy not because "its a porn site", but because something that could be called general content (I.E a female fur in a swimsuit showing off) can be acceptable as a general submission (no nudity or blood or sex) but not be acceptable as an icon.

it IS hypocrisy- to use your own language, if they 'only remove what they are told about' then how come they did nothing when i asked them? and still haven't responded? I told them myself about it right when they implemented the new rules.
I'm going to get the icon modified- smaller boobs and no bounce, and start reusing it. Hopefully it doesn't attract anyone's ire. >.<

...really? Boob bouncing is so much of a horrible thing that children shouldn't see it? Better not be taking them to the beach any more. :C
'cause really, should folks BE on this site while at work? Probably not...probably get in trouble for it, even if it is SFW.
And just because my friend is riding my ass, no, I wasn't aware of that version of the site, though I was aware of the movement to 'clean up' FA. Which I still think is dumb. XD
It's not that the site doesn't and can't fulfill other needs and such, but this fandom...well, we have our kinks. It's kind of part of the package, so it's to be expected.
It's like someone writing Star Trek fan-fic, without Captain Kirk getting it on with a green alien chick. ;3
And I know all about the customer service aspect...I just recently wrote a whole journal bitching about how sloppy and poor they've been, and how they've been cherry picking stuff to single out.
It's absurd.

I figured that my recent SFW submission (with the sword) drew someone who really didn't like bouncing boobs, and reported the icon when they saw it. Still, i dont mind that it was removed, im just irked because the mods never bothered to actually give me any advice or even read my message about it.

and i was fine with it, but then immediately after we get the 'explicit icon removal' fiasco. It made me think that there might be too much boob or too much jiggle. That possibility in itself is technically within the (very) grey area of the rules. Anything that could be sexually suggestive, is a fair target for removal.
but the only way to know for sure is to ask a mod. Too bad they aren't willing to answer >.<
And really, how did all those people have those breast expansion avatars all over the place (y'know, the ones with the girls in the bikini tops and they'd giggle and their boobies would suddenly ploomp out and bounce), yet yours is somehow a problem? There's no dirty bits showing, so what's the harm? :P
and yes, I had thought my icon was 'safe for work' but it still falls within the huge grey area of that rule. So down she goes! >.<
im glad you remember! I put up a journal back then too asking people what they thought. Most everyone said that they thought it was OK.
But the two or three people that said it wasn't, are the cause for the removal. If even a single person thinks an icon is explicit, then it's fair game. It's unfortunate, but that's the rules!
No, it was just "We don't like Minecraft pics. Fuck you, we're taking it down."
Do they have any IDEA how many hours I poured into making that masterpiece?! That picture was the only record I had of that completed project. It's just common, fucking courtesy to give a warning.
FA is becoming a joke, a bad one at that.
Nuke it from orbit, its the only way to be sure.
Please do not assume things or look for hidden meanings where there are none.
but this isn't really about that- this journal is me being mad at the mods for not even bothering to answer when i asked about this issue. The site has a lot of problems, to be sure- especially when it comes to dealing with splitting adult and nonadult things. But that's another issue. I'm ticked because of the mod 'customer service' if it could be called that x.x
And how is that any more suggestive than the naked hipthrust icons?
