Should I get Skyrim?

As the title probably obviously implies, I'm looking to get a new video game, preferably for my Playstation 3, since I have the least games for that system out of my whole collection of games... which admittedly isn't very big in the first place. As it stands, I've pretty much brought my decision down to two games: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Final Fantasy XIII-2.
Now, I pretty much know as an absolute fact that anyone who sees this will immediately jump down to the comments section and tell me how much better Skyrim is than Final Fantasy XIII-2, completely disregarding my own stance on the two games and my dilemma in general. I really hope people actually read this to give me some better-informed advice on the subject.
Now here's the part that I'm hoping people actually read:
I'm not a fan of The Elder Scrolls. I've never played any of the prior games, I've not been very impressed by the graphics (then again I've never much liked the "dirty medieval Europe fantasy" look anyway), and the story doesn't sound all that interesting (and while this is a minor nit-pick about the game, the Skyrim memes are getting really stupid; no one cares about "arrow to the knee" anymore, which is phenomenal, as it rose and fell as a meme before the game even hit a year old). However, the game has received almost universal praise from its players and every major video game reviewer to get their hands on it, and I've taken cautious leaps into new video game series before (like Mass Effect, which I only got into by buying Mass Effect 2 on a whim while on vacation).
On the other hand, I loved Final Fantasy XIII (which is a phrase seemingly about as rare on the Internet as someone who actually knows what a Pineal Gland does). I understood the story and liked all of the characters, the game play was fun, and the graphics are easily the best the franchise has yet to offer. I know Final Fantasy XIII had it's problems, but I never paid them much attention when I played it. However, I'm still curious about Skyrim, and if I get one game, I'm probably gonna hold off on getting any others for a while, at least until I can get a job again.
It's not really a matter of which, but a matter of when. I'll definitely get Final Fantasy XIII-2, but should I take the opportunity and get it now, or should I wait and bit and explore Skyrim first, and then pick up XIII-2 when I've got more money?

FA+

Skyrim, however, is an awesome game. I like the stories, largely because any and all stories can entertain me.

But as you say.. FF XIII-2 is really something to have, for all your mentioned points.. (and a friend just told me they will have Mass Effect armors as DLC :P and another old FF boss/summon as DLC I believe is Ultros :P)
As for Skyrim.. even though the graphics are... nice... and I am part bias.. since I'm not all for the medieval theme myself.. I believe it is a little bit overrated. But again.. that is only me.
I can tell from friends who played Skyrim.. that they started talking about it a lot.. and slowly stoped saying things about the game, and moved to other games...
So I guess.. bottom line.. I would suggest first doing FF XIII-2 since you know you liked the first one and you know you will enjoy the second one. Enjoying the game now and not on the future...
Again.. this is only my humble opinnion ^^ I back you up with whatever choice you do ^^
Take care my friend.. and I do hope that you find work soon and that you get to enjoys lots of games in the near future ^^
*Hugs*
