Well good news; apparently my tablet is not broken because it worked when plugged into a different computer; it is just not working with my computer for some reason. The question is, how to get it to work? Have fiddled with all sorts of settings and unplugged and replugged stuff in with no success >.<

Have you tried completely removing and re-installing the drivers? And run the preferences utility and removed all profiles using it?

You may have to do any and all updates on the tablet driver on your computer. I hope that does the trick. :)
