I have a ton of people watching, few fav, and even fewer comment

sorry, i don't really fav or comment anymore unless i'm really close with the person, people seem to take critique really hard nowadays xP and generic comments are just as useless as a random +fav, in my humble opinion.

it's not the not faving, I'm fine with that, but it's the faving and not commenting, unless your that much of an art whore, you should at least be able to put a couple words down of WHY you faved it

eh, i don't know, i define an art whore as someone who always asks for requests of themselves but never gives anything back in return. those people are like, bleaurgh. the reason i stopped posting on devart. but yeah. at least you can garner a few favs xP sometimes people are just too shy to comment or feel that an empty comment won't be appreciated as much as a fav, it's not like they're intentionally trying to hurt you or something.

ok, maybe not art whores, fav whores then? I noticed a lot of those accounts on here. People that the only thing you see on their profiles is favs, "thanks for the fav and/or watch", the watch list and MABYE an Icon that isn't the FA default

perhaps they're shy art appreciators? i tend to be a little more empathetic towards those people, since i tend to be too shy to comment most of the time, and, as impersonal as favs seem, sometimes people really just don't have the ability to post art or are too shy to comment. my ex boyfriend, for example, had a bunch of favs, but commented kinda rarely, because a.) he had no scanner, and b.) he, like me, didn't like social interaction with strangers. call it cowardice if you like, but it wasn't a malevolent act.
in short, it may be annoying, but hey. at least you're getting favs. i wish i could get a fav or two around here for non-fat fur art ;P and if you want critique, hey. gimme a ring and i'll lend you a hand.

most of the favs I get are when I post gift art or sketches that people gave to me XP most of my art get's nothing

ahh.. I've got the same thing on my Deviant Art. I've got this picture called "Nintendogs: Akamaru' and it's got 30 or so faves but only 12 comments >_<
