OMFNG!

This morning I was treated to a lovely epidural steroid injection to reduce the sciatic pain I have been dealing with for the past week or so. Right now, a few hours after the treatment, though my leg is still numb and apt to be a bit wobbly, the majority of the actual pain seems to be gone.
But OHMYFUCKINGGOD!!!!!!!!!! Did it ever hurt like FUCK!!!!!
Overall, it wasn't too horrific, mostly what I was expecting, but three or four times while they were poking around back there, they either touched or came too close to or did SOMETHING to that nerve that shot violently intense, screaming, Captain Kirk acting PAIN, with a capitol PAIN, down that leg all the way to my toes! I thought the pain alone would kill me, and it might have if it had lasted longer than the few moments it did...
Anyway...just DAMN! Hopefully I will be better now and can get back to the important business of creating rodent porn comics!
Sorry I haven't been on here lately...things have just been too crazy and evil.
*Hugs!*

Glad you're looking forward to more rodent porn!
Ouch, sorry to hear they poked you like that. Hope you feel better.
Why do you believe 'doctors' can cure something with their one time drugs.
Try this; a friend of mine is a psych major finishing off his graduate school (Phd) he did suggest something that though so California, is probably better than having 'doctors' poke into your spinal cord with needles.
Try balancing the parasynthetic nerves through a biofeedback specialist.
It simply quiets the nerve so it never happens again.
The doctor will probably have to inject you again at some point down the road (from my experience with them) with a greater and greater dose until it eventually either kills you or like another friend of mine (now deceased), who got instant Diabeties from a Steriod injection. He had to take daily insulin injections until his condition worsened and he died a couple years later.
Sorry to hear about your pain. i'd like to at least shake your hand someday at a con so hopefully you don't get Diabeties, my hope and prayers.
I hope I get to shake hands with you too. Going to RCFM by any chance? Or maybe up here to RainFurrest?
. i have 'thrown my back out' around nine times. each time 'doctors' told me i HAD to have surgery for a herniated disk as it had swelled. each time i went to a chiropractor i was walking without pain but some soreness that lasted a few days but later on (another visit) i was okay nearly immediately lasting about two to five years between visits.
the 'doctor' tell you that your back will have to be fused where ever they are going to cut on you and that you may well still have considerable pain to the same degree anyway with either complete loss of ability in several things you used to be able to do (before surgery) yet?
This isn't a case of a misalignment though. The hole in the vertebra in question is smaller than it's supposed to be and the herniation of the disks around it may have caused the nerve to swell and become compressed by the space not being big enough. He thinks I'll eventually have to do something surgical about it. :P
I do actually feel much better today, thanks. I am not limping anymore...but i am a bit sore and still have some numbness in my toes.
