The idea is not so much buying commission
but investing in artist you like in the idea of being
a patron of the arts.
Its sounds rather lofty but honestly
its supporting the things you like
It could be a styles, a characters or a theme
but one feels strong enough to their part to share it
with themselves or with others that might enjoy it
Non-artists often create a furry character that represents themselves. They want to have pictures of this character doing stuff. "That's me," they'll say to their friends, rubbing their faces up against that fresh new picture of their furry self boning Renamon with a cock the size of a Swiss Colony Beef Log. "Me me me me me!!!"
some people lack the talent to portray the ideas they have, while other people can portray any idea, but lack those ideas to begin with.
I've never solidly been behind commissions myself, not a good artist really, but i still feel more value and attachment to a piece i did myself...
For me, I love to see how different artists interprets my fursona. Sometimes they may be spot on to what I have in my head while others go in a completely different direction. It's like artistic gambling, sometimes ya bet on black and ya hit red.
That, and my free hand drawing SUCKS!!! But I'm working on that. Got a big project coming up where I have to use my free hand to make some of my stencils.
everyone has an idea a fetish a "thing/etc." they'd like to see be realized, made, created, done, we are but a medium or a vessel to what they wish to see, all different but with one same goal........or in simpler words, HERP DERP YIFF YIFF :U
anywho hope i wasnt deep there, but yeah, i've always wondered on comissions unless its for concepts, plans, or anything that brings fruit/results the rest is...pretty much useless/uneeded.

What I dont get is the "gotta yiff'em all" commisheners that spend hundreds a month... Once in a while sure, but 2-3 times a month?
