Scared Half To Death

I had a particularly interesting night tonight at work that I'll just have to share with you guys. I have two jobs, I teach after school artwork in a few school districts where I live, and I work at my mother's veterinary clinic.
I had a dog slip its lead from me tonight and run for the gas station next door. Needless to say I ran as much as I could before the dog disappeared into a residential district. I had a woman stop and let me hop into her car to try to catch her but no good. Instead I ran back to work, told my "boss" what happened and she called the animal control units in to give us some back up. I got into my car as I pointed out where the dog ran to my boss and she got into her truck. I drove as fast as I could to the area I think I saw her run through the trees in and spotted four guys having a barbeque. I rolled down my window and asked if they'd seen a white siberian husky and they said "Oh yeah she's in the yard next over on the left!" and I started to drive towards it but apparently I didn't go far enough so one of the guys ran down the street and disappeared. I got the leash and followed him and low and behold, he was carrying the puppy husky (8 months) in his arms.
He is my hero. Thank goodness for guys in green sweatshirts having barbeques.
