Hello :0
Hey just making a post to introduce myself here to those who might not know me.
My name is Stu and I have been drawing for the past decade and live down south in New Zealand!
I would like to say thanks to everyone who has left a comment, faved, and added me to their watch list the past couple of months and making this a welcoming site. Also a huge thanks to ozkangaroo e1000basetx phorphaux and wolfwings for the shout outs :]
With my art, I spend a fair bit of time per piece (average 30-40 hours) as I niggle over details or repaint things if they don't come out right. I'm at work in front of a computer 50hrs a week (usually photoshop), and tends to sap up some of my energy to open up that program at home. So that kinda puts a limit on me doing commissions at the moment, as I do have a bunch of personal stuff I want to do as well, but will let you know here if I ever do open up :]
Currently I have been on a good painting mode and have done more than in the past two months than I do a year (it was about 2 pieces maybe) so hopefully I'll keep that chugging along.
If you got this far, as an FA exclusive thing I'd like to give away an A4 (8.5"X12.5") Giclée print of that Panda pic I did to someone here. All you have to do is post a name of a native New Zealand bird :V
I'll do a lucky draw next week on the 10th of April and post the winners name on this post. pic of print here :0 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/702559/IMG_0686.jpg
Thank you to all those who entered and Congratulations to Daggerocha!!!
I also have a couple A4 Giclée prints of pulled over and Victorian stu left over from comic con last year for $20US +shipping if you like those kind of things.
Cheers if you got through that wall of text, and hope to meet more rad artists here :U
Also feel free ask me anything if you have a boggle.

FA+

I can see how much work you put in to your images. I highly enjoy them and look forward to seeing more from you!
btw that panda image did totally rock!
and the grey on their beak is pretty interesting as well.
had to ask about birds didn't you XD
plus birds are pretty cool!
pretty sure google can help you with this question though :]
And I find that hard to believe :0
Being put on the spot sort of makes my mind stop working, so I'll leave it at that.
As for the bird thing, I don't think I'd get much use out of a print, so I'll let someone else have a chance at it. :)
I wish you the best of luck in your artistic endeavors, Stu.
also cheers for being a good sport
Hey, you didn't say it had to still be alive. =^.^=
And thank you much for the kind words, it's awesome to see great artists like you contributing on-line where folks can enjoy your abilities.
Thanks, just keen to keep going on and getting inspiration from other great arts
So you work with photoshop for a living? That's amazing, I'm working towards a graphics career. What exactly is your field?
Anyway, glad to see you've settled into FA for good. :)
Yeah and their nostrils are at the end of their beak :0
I do a mix of graphic jobs, kinda like a jack of all trades master of none.
Keeps me out of trouble mainly :]
I didn't know that about their nostrils! That sounds completely unique to any bird. Can you imagine having your nose so far from your face? XD
I'd like to do an assortment of things, too. :) Keeps it fresh!
As for birds, how about the Kea? It's the only parrot that hangs out on alpine mountains and plays in snow. They also enjoy eating cars
There's the Kakapo too. They kind of look like owls, but are flightless.
Still yet to see a kea, but then I haven't been to the south island, and I've heard they can be trouble wit your stuff :I
I love Kakapo's so damn cute! missed a chance to meet Sirocco who became famous for copulating with Steve Fry's camera man head.
Cheers and have added you down as well!
All about who you screw :U
I do really need to shorten my time spent on each piece, it will come with time when I figure out my work flow and become more efficient with mark making hopefully.
Everyone is unique in their own way, but honoured that you like my work that much, and it's greatly appreciated here :]
I'm looking forward to seeing your future artwork. I don't have any room for a print but that's really generous of you to offer them to us :) I'm also hoping to move to New Zealand on a short-term work visa in a couple of years so I might hit you up for some advice on the area when the time for that gets closer xD
It's one thing I can offer as I can't really draw people as much art as I would like, since my free time is limited.
Feel free to ask me what ever you want, happy to help out :]
Thanks again!
Yes those are native to NZ so I have your name down as well :]
You're doing something really amazing. There's really nothing to nitpick in your work.
I'm slowly trying to also be a bit more looser with my art so I can be a little more time efficient.
If you do find anything to nitpick about, please let me know!
I'll pretty much be stuck down here for the rest of this year as travel from here is a bit expensive, and saving for a trip to the UK next year.
I maybe going to a Con in Brisbane next year, but have to see what happens with that one :]
Thanks Pike!
Gosh, I saw your artwork posted elsewhere before.I had no idea you were on FA.
Whooooo!
Cheers!
