Have you had your daily dose of brick to the face, today?
I hate Ian Flynn fanboys. I really, really do. They're just as bad as Ken Penders fanboys, which is saying something because I consider Penders to be superior as a writer than Ian, if not as a person.
Just now, I posted something on Ian's board. Something meant to be taken as a joke. Something that would normally be considered a GOOD thing. You see, my mate recently bought a hardcover trade of Ian's Sonic: Genesis saga, and thanks to it, he's starting to question his decision to quit the comic after issue 216 and is interested in getting back into it. I let them know about this in the post, jokingly saying that Ian "corrupted" him into coming back, and I even put a smiley face at the end to let people know I was kidding with that last part.
The first comment I got called me a dick for posting it and essentially told me to fuck off.
Seriously, what the hell? First of all, he's GAINING a new reader, because of this! Isn't that supposed to be cause for celebration among Ian fanboys? And second, did he NOT see the smiley face at the end of the comment, or the joking nature of the post? Evidently not, because otherwise he'd have realized I was kidding. That honestly hurt me; I wasn't meant to be insulting or anything, but once again my big fat fucking mouth draws in all of the assholes of a board no matter what comes out of it.
This is why I rarely talk on forums and imageboards, anymore; nothing I say will NOT be taken as an insult by SOMEONE, or get me into a stupid flame war. That's why I left Ian's board, in the first place; because I got into a flame war that I couldn't get out of, no matter what I did to stop it, with even one of the mods getting in on things (by that I mean, she sided with the flamers and started attacking me like they did, not intervene to get the topic back on track), but now... now there's no fucking way I'm going back. It's stupid, it's wrong, and I'm getting sick of it.
