The worst part is most of the much younger crowd that enjoys MLP doesn't even know Fantasia exists. And even though it's 70 years old it still looks better than what we have today.

It was a ground breaker all right. Some amazing work. Disney should think about re-releasing it to DVD sometime and let the newer generations catch up.

Huh. It has been so long since I watched Fantasia that I'd forgotten all about them. But I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if those equines in Fantasia didn't at least help to inspire the Ponies. I do remember the centaur girls, though!

I didn't remember either of them. I don't think I've seen it since I was a kid.

Fantasia and it's sequel are two of my favorite movies... and now's the time to make the 3rd one.

You certainly have a point, now that I think back on it. Of course, the lovely centauress is another matter, purr. As for the movie, yeah, it's one of my favorites, incredible artistic and technical achievement, went to demonstrate that animation is a true art form...even if the ending did scare the piss out of me when I was younger, heh. And the second one...oooh, knocked me on my ass, that's for sure, but in a good way. I'm waiting for the CSO to do a live show with the film, hopefully they can get the rights.
