Does anyone know of a good emulator for running Linux Ubuntu programs on Windows? I'm NOT looking for a virtual machine. I have one already, and it's not working out for me.
Also looking for a Linux 16 bit compiler. X86 and x64 will not cut it because the system I'm compiling for (Game Gadget) is 16 bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cygwin is the closest thing to a "linux emulator" available on Windows but be warned it's really hard to use unless you know a lot about how Linux works on it's own.

Their site says it's not an emulator. Just makes programs look like Linux.

Last time I checked, MIPS was 32-bit, not 16-bit (they're referring to the style of games they expect to see on the platform rather than the actual CPU bit number), and I'm pretty sure the SDK comes with a compiler.

The SDK is just a pair of binary files, and the toolchain is like nothing I've ever seen before.
