Bluntly put, I hate Easter.
Not for the religious over tones to it. On the contrary; I could care less about it. It's a holiday that was robbed from another religion and used for christianity. Big whoop. It's been done before.
No... this starts a long time ago, when I was a wee lad of 15. Easter morning. I'm climbing a tree, having fun, since after all, it's Easter. I fall out of the tree and break my left arm. Much pain was had.
The next year, I broke my toe on the tub on Easter morning while taking a shower. No biggie, right? Two years of stuff going wrong.
The next year. My old car is being worked on, so I have a different car. it catches fire on me on Easter morning when I'm out at the store. Not good.
The next year? Slept in and missed the whole day. Nothing bad happened.
And so on. Lost jobs. Broken or damaged body parts or important things around the house lost, stolen or broken. Always on Easter. And the general... icky mood that drops on Easter, similar to my birthday. Ugh. Is it any wonder I try and sleep in on Easter if I can?
No, I don't like Easter. I'm not a fan of religion, so this isn't about religion. I despise this day as much as my birthday. I will be glad when it's over and done with for another year. Now I'm going to sit back and hope this day ends without incident. knowing my luck, tho', my car downstairs was already towed, leaving me stranded.

This Easter's been a rather sucky one. I ended up losing a good friend's faith and trust and another buddy of mine had some violent drama in his house.

Although, the day itself actually hasn't been so bad. It's just all the junk that's been happening around it.
