Furry... What dose it all mean?
i sometimes wonder, why am I even a furry?
ANd for anyone who reads this, this will not be long.
I became a furry last year, but had been one sense the late 90s when i found Miss Whitewolf herself. i saw some of her art and i got hooked. Even got her to do a painting of my mom's late Beagle. Where that picture is, i have no idea. But now that i am a furry, I sometimes wonder why. It just seems natural to me.
But there is also a down side. I live in a area of being the only furry maybe in the whole county of where i live. sure there are other furries in surrounding towns and cities, but we do not have a group made yet to get together and meet. But i manage to keep the fur love alive.
Just a little thought on being a furry...
Nyoof

I guess I just like the idea to express some ideas through neutral characters. Like noone will be offended when Pepe le Pew acts superstereotipical Frenchman, but everyone would dislike the idea if that was a real life human or human cartoon. Also a small layer of fur makes everything much more appaling - you can see no skin deformities, scars, freckles, even a fat animal is cute. Humans lack this "socio-protective" layer. Clothes rarely help. So some furries are here because they can remove their human flaws by beinga part of the group that accepts such removal (holy fuck, sorry I am drunk a bit and I tend to overexplain stuff)
Animals are just something we like to associate with. I like wolverines because they have many traits I would like to see in myself, but that doesn't mean I want to be one.
Otherwise, as a social thing furries are just same nerds as comic people - one dresses as batman, others as lions. Difference - close to none :)
Furverts are different story. Sociopathy, escapism and for few traits of zoophilia can be observed.
I also kind of ask myself, why not astronauts? but the furry thing to me makes us more then we are in life. that is one way i see it like you said.
