Deconstructing Star Wars

George Lucas I think has every right to think we fans are complete assholes to him. But the thing he's looking over is that he should quit giving us so much ammo!! With every new inception of star wars I keep trying to retain that child like love of the series, but lately I can't even enjoy that I feel.
Latest example Star wars kinect. Now yes, the game is bad.. we all knew it would be when at E3 the demonstration wasn't even live. It was some dude acting out what the character was doing to give the impression it was live. But they added a dancing mini-game to it. with spoof songs.. instead " ridin' solo they turn it into "Han solo" instead of Hollaback girl. they turn it to " Hologram girl" the merchandising is so bad at this point. Spaceballs used to joke about that, now they've become an exaggeration of the Joke spaceballs came up with.

Though to be fair I'm pretty sure the primary reason the game will sell is BECAUSE of that dance game. Ive even had a friend say that it would be an excellent punctuation to a night of nerd drinking. Equivalent of watching a terrible movie. (Star Wars Holiday Special) The question comes for me... how much of this concept is intentional. Did someone see the game in development and go "This is awful... i say we embrace that?" or was it "This is awesome! oh hey dancing games are huge, lets do that too!"
