that I got a big package....
in the mail...
Got a used Technics 1200 MKII in the mail yesterday. It's also black and not the usual silver which is kinda cool. Played with it for about an hour, and let me tell you some things:
1. Heavy as hell
2. GOOD GOD THE TORQUE!!! Jeeeez... it would be easier to stop a freight train! I have to learn how to scratch all over again!
3. The pop up light is adorable. I know it burns out and is usually the first thing to go wrong, but... I LOVE it! It's like having a Diglett on your turntable!
I also found out that we finally got high-speed internet at my house, (something I really needed at 16 years old, but had to wait until I was almost 22!). So, I'll be practicing more, posting more, and may even set it up so I could steam a scratch session once I'm not so bad!

If you just want to listen to records in your own home, a belt drive turntable would be alright. I would recommend a direct-drive turntable if you plan on doing ANYTHING else with it such as mixing.
