I don't talk to you anymore, it makes me sad. Sorry, FA. To be fair, I really haven't posted much anywhere lately due to stress and my grandpa and work, and tired. AND tired.
Maybe a little storytime?
My grandpa went to the hospital the other day in an ambulance. A couple days ago, really. I had to work and stuff, but he was really weak and had a headache, and he's been having bouts of confusion lately. Off and on, though we more or less attributed it to one of his medications, because my grandmother stopped letting him take one of them and he doesn't do the 'confused' thing anymore. And when I say confused, imagine... sleep talking, but while you are awake. Saying/doing strange things in the same manner as that.
Anyway, we were worried, and I was beside myself because my grandpa is probably the only person in my family I care about other than my sister(and a couple cousins, but I don't see them so often anymore :<), and he gets taken out of the house by stretcher and I can't do anything but say "Bye, gotta go to work, love you."
That has been on my mind the past couple of days, but then we got some good(ish?) news. Relatively good news. He has diabetes. I mean, diabetes isn't good, but at least it's something we can control and that can get better. He's being released from the hospital today with all these instructions and such. But my grandmother is under the mistaken and stupid mindset that "Oh, he can have sweets and cake and pie and candy and pepsi, he just has to watch it", which would be TRUE for someone younger, healthier, not on a pacemaker, etc., but by this point, he should really just stay the hell away. At least until his diet is well-balanced and consists of less fucking junk food.
Seriously, my biggest pet peeve around here? Junk food. Junk food everywhere but no easy healthy snacks in sight.

He'd just been really frail lately, of mind and body, and I was worried it was going to be something serious. Serious enough to be like "You've got a few days to get your things in line".
I myself have hypogloucemia, so blood sugar abnormalities aren't news to me, and honestly I'm glad that it is diabetes and not the frailty of old age/smoking for sixty years/bad diet. And maybe now that the bad diet will be forced to change, he might even get better. A good diet can do wonders for overall health.
Hopefully now that he has been properly diagnosed means his eating habits will change. Your grandma doesn't seem to think it's a problem though which won't really help.
Like, if you ate a donut every day for breakfast, start eating a donut and an apple every day, then one day, when you are in a hurry, perhaps you will just choose the apple instead of the donut, and your cravings for donuts will wane, until you are perfectly content to just eat apples for breakfast.
And the best way to keep to a diet is not to forbid yourself from things you really want, cuz that's like trying to cut an addiction cold-turkey.
I also have one day a week that I don't diet. It's my designated cheat day and it makes sticking to the diet all week long much much easier. :)
They have a surprisingly long shelf life and are super delicious.
