I was talking to a friend of mine in YIM recently about furries and it's history from what I can recall. No this is not a guy that is a fur I was talking to just a friend. Anyway he then asked when I got in to it.. I had to think and recalled first reading Albedo comics back in 1982, and how I enjoyed playing the furry player race in a RPG game that came out in 1981, so I said 1981. Oddly though It was 1984 I got in to BBS and such. And in some form or another been helping the fandom grow with ideas and some advice. Though officially I will never take credit for anything. I just promoted the ideas I thought where good. In the early 90s I became one of the founding members of the Gryphon Guild, a educational sight on the history, mythology wise, on gryphons. So in 1992 I choose the name Typhon and became the dark gryphon then. So I guess you can say I been a furry back when I was 9 in 1981, and started peeking and taking it more serious when I was 12. Funny note I never found out about the adult stuff till 1996 which was after my college and job corps days. Anyway after talking about this he called me a Elder Gryphon of all things and asked me if my character goes around with a cane reminding of young folks of back in my day...... Ugh.. I'm going to be 40 in Dec.. Still made me wonder if I really am a old fur or not. I don't feel with it, and can still keep up with the newer set I see popping up these days, along with the older set. Eh in the end I don't really care, but I though it important enough to at least get off my chest and share it.
