Ok, need help getting a flight to Anthrocon

Heya everyone,
Here is my problem in a nutshell: I have never booked a flight in my life, and well, I'm a bit worried and a bit clueless on what to do.
So, I need help/guidance on what to do, what websites are the best (and won't screw me over) to get my flight tickets, transportation to the hotels, baggage and suit stuff, etc.

I use the websites Cheap Tickets and Travelocity to book most of my flights, plus they tend to have directories for hotels in the are so you search and find the con hotel and book a room and there is usually a shuttle at the airport that will provide transportation to the hotel you're booked at, need anymore advice send me a note, always willing to lend a hand
