I think it has more to do with homophobic anger being fear of oneself.

This study is pretty old and has a couple errors. The researchers who ran the experiment even admitted that there were some pretty serious confounds and that several further experiments would be needed in order to draw anything truly meaningful from it. The biggest confound was simply defining homophobia; its a lot harder than you might think. Probably the second biggest problem is that an erection is also common during periods of anxiety or stress and there was no practical way (in this particular experiment) to distinguish between these feelings and arousal.

If you find any follow up experiments, those should be REALLY interesting.

It does indeed indicate that. They don't know exactly why yet, but they know it happens. So they need more experiments were guys (they need to do a version for women at some point) watch various types of porn. Where do I sign up! :P

I like the idea of actually taking a study like this on them. I think more should be done with larger amounts from both non phobic and phobic.

Also it's quite funny. Men who are homophobic hate gay MEN, but not so much with lesbians. Because deep down, I think all men like a little girl on girl action.

I guess the phobia makes sense for being in denial. Phobias are known to be fears with out reason (at least most don't have a reason) or a fear of something that shouldn't be feared (like Agriphobia for instance- there is no reason to be afraid to travel long distances (even though I have this kinda lol)). The fear can probably be traced back to when these men were aroused to other men or perhaps gay porn. Horrified by the fact, there defense mechinisms kick in and dey the fact they were aroused and take on a personality that will "prove" to others that they are not gay.

Come to think of it, a lot of my real life freinds seem to hate them too (one expresses his anger every time the word 'furry' is brought up). God damn it would be funny if he turned out to like them. I'm sure one of that group of freinds admitted to liking furries and they just don't talk about her now...

It's annoying liking/hiding this kind of stuff and hanging around with those people.

I may as well point out I'm not sure what each individual is referning to, for example, I just like drawing them, im not sure if they are against that or the 'hardcore' furries or whatever.

If they're actually devoting the energy to "hate" something so much then there's probably an ulterior motive.
