New cat, need help
General
So I got a new cat (like 3-4 month old) and my cat Pepsi (3 years old) is such a bitch to this small little creature. I know, my home is her kingdom, and if somebody(cats) intrude, she needs to defend her district. But really.. he's so small and weak and she goes all OAAAHKILLINGYOU OAAAH! I kill you!!!!
I'm kinda lost what to do, I know I shouldn't defend him from her all the time, because she'll think I like the intruder more like her.. but yea.. just let them fight? And will the little one w/o name surrender or what? What to do.. hm.
Maybe somebody has an idea?
I really don't like to see them fight because.. well the little one had a hard time with his former owners.. (assholes)
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Eventually the older cat will accept it and stop fighting. At least I hope so.
Let's hope they'll begin to like each other some day
First, the new cat should be kept separate from the other cat. This gives the cats chance to get used to the smell of each other, the sounds of each other, etc. After a week or so, you can let them see each other some, but they should still be kept separate.
Here's a guide on how to do all of this and milestones to look out for: http://www.fourpaws.org/pages/adopt.....cing_cats.html
I've done this with foster cats and it usually works pretty well. It just takes time! Of course, some cats will never live peacefully with another cat.
And the link as well, I'll try it how you discribed it and in the link.
Let's hope, Queen Pepsi will someday cool down.
Hah.
Thank you so much for the help again!
Afterwards start contact with each other, little bits at a time, so that way they get used to seeing each other. Keep increasing contact time, supervised, and put toys in front of the little one so he doesn't try to play with your other cat(even though for him it's playtime, for her it's like begging for a fight.)
Your female will stay hostile towards the kitten for some time, so don't expect a quick solution. Its like inviting someone new into your life, you need to take steps and create a comfort zone. Hope this helps.
Glad I got some help with the prob. ^^
As an alternative, you can try the boards on this site
http://www.catcollection.org
They may be able to help you with some of the other problems you might face during this bonding. Be warned though, some of them are particularly not kind to furries, so it might be better to not mention that you reside here. Also, the board is quite dusty these days, so you might wait days for an answer.
http://www.messybeast.com/ is a fantastic household cat knowledgebase though... a bit old though, if anything.
Everythng's great now. She accepted him and they play together pretty often xD
