Modernizin'

It's interesting to observe that while technology itself has a tendency to move steadily forward with the occasional leap, modernization can either be a slow or an incredibly rapid process depending upon the circumstances. On the one hand, Russia struggled to modernize its nation due to its vastness and its conservative society, but on the other hand Japan transformed from a feudal nation into a modern empire and world power in the space of just 30 years.
The Realm of Sejhat is similarly populated with cultures caught behind the technology curve. I've already imagined a number of struggles and 'growing pains' related directly to this phenomenon, but I was curious to know what you folks wanted to see. Uh, bear in mind that when I say 'modern', I mean it in the context of the realm's Industrial Revolution/Napoleonic setting and not 'modern' in terms of 21st century tech. While I'm sure you'd love to see raptors in F-22 Raptors shooting missile swords at people, I think it would be a little... lore breaking.

One such culture is that of the Rosomai. They joined the Beastfolk alliance just 15 years ago when they were still semi-nomadic clans on horseback. Now it's become clear that the oil so abundant in their lands has industrial value, and on top of the fight to control said oil there is also war between the clansmen over the issue of doing away with tradition to embrace modern weapons, commerce, political ambitions, etc.
(Don't take it as I'm celebrating it, but it's the truth)
