Well what makes something worth going to?

it's completely subjective, that's true. I suppose I ought to rephrase it to ask people about their opinions of it. I ask because I've heard mixed things about it, like that it's become almost too large of a con or isn't as fun as others, etc

There's an origami convention around the same time (was actually on the same weekend prior years) and I'm trying to figure out which I'd rather go to if able.

I really have a good time at AC, but I also have a few groups of friends that are ALWAYS there, so I know I have good, calm socialization if I want it, just a text away!

As far sales, it cam be amazing, if you want to sell there.

I went for the first time last year, and I had a great time, but really that had much more to do with the people I met than the con itself. AC is so huge, it's a whole different experience. But if I went not knowing the people I did, it would have been overwhelming and difficult to enjoy, I think.

AC has a reputation of being overwhelmingly big, and it can be easy to lose track of people you mean to hang out with, since you may get caught up in hanging out with only a certain group of people. The plus side is that you can meet a lot of people in a short amount of time. Also, the dining options are far better than MFF.

I was fortunate to attend AC last year with a set of friends that I knew from FWA and I met up with good online acquaintances as well, so it was an absolute blast. If you're attending with a group of people that you want to hang out with, then I'd certainly recommend it.

I went once. It was pretty good. Probably not going back any time soon though; it's not really a priority for me.
