I like to escape into other characters or ideas. Originally the fursona was just that both me and not me at the same time, something I could go to when I wanted to get into another "head space".

what is a furry? a fanatic of anthropomorphic animals and possibly doing something to show it off such as the fursuits if wanting to. a furry does NOT define someone who yiffs or just wears the suit. my DA page has a stamp that defines furries. a PROUD furry. that is me. that stamp that i have defines me.

I was interested in the art, so I took a closer look and eventually became one myself. I've met lots of nice people here as well ^^

I think a furry is an anthropomorphic animal character that humans create to have as their "Internet persona/fursona" in order to have social interaction with other furs as well as other humans so they can "escape" the real world. Being a furry doesnt mean being a yiff fanatic or one that just wears the suit. It means that we just want to get away from the stress of everyday life and just have fun.
I know there are many takes on this, and everyone has their different views, so this is mine. Even though everyone has a different way of becoming a furry as well as living their life as one.
