So Monday at 9 AM, I'll be starting a new job. It's been 9 months (more or less exactly) since I lost my old one, but all that searching has finally paid off. I would say expect fewer updates, but... I pretty much don't update anyway, so you won't notice anything different. :V

As for the inquiry, I need a new music editing software. I've been pirating using Sony Sound Forge for years, but ever since I got my new system, it's been having problems where saving a file over 4 minutes long will sometimes result in data loss. It's weird, too, affecting specific files over multiple retries, and some files not at all. I've got an album of music (purchased, mind you) that I need to convert to a format my winamp will actually play, and no means of doing so. :(

The functionality I need are things like noise gating, volume control, whitespace trimming (that's a big one) and the ability to directly manipulate wavs and MP3s -- cutting and pasting and so forth. Help!
