I dunno, I'm a little curious right now. Given my situation, I couldn't jump off to college right away like my peers. I had to find a job and save myself some money first. Figured I'll pop a little question-are if anyone wants to do it.
1-did you go straight to college out of high school?
2-did you know exactly where you wanted to go to college?
3-did you know exactly what you were going to major in?
4-did you switch majors?
5-did you have any activities you were involved in?
6-what differences did you see between college students and high school students?
7-did you quit or pause school for any one reason or another?
Add to this if you want. I can't really think of much right now. :P

2. yes.
3. yes.
4. yes.
5. yes.
6. College students definite have a lot more freedom, but more responsibility as well. Your mistakes in college could cost you a lot more than they did in high school. Also, in high school, you learn how to absorb information. In college, you learn how to think; the most successful of the bunch learn how to how they think and learn how to teach things to themselves.
7. No.
2. I had narrowed it down to two schools and then decided, applied, and accepted before graduation.
3. Yes, mechanical engineering.
4. I considered it when the math got super hard, but I stayed, got some tutoring, and I'm glad I did.
5. Not at first. The first week of college I ate lunch in my car and avoided everyone. By my junior year I was a common sight in my department's offices, involved in numerous events, a member of three or four clubs and the President of one.
6. Not a whole lot at first.
7. I spent 5 years in a 4 year program. I worked while in school; first at a retail store, then at an internship in my future field.
Yep, I did.
2-did you know exactly where you wanted to go to college?
Yeah, Purdue. It was where all my friends were going, and it had a nationally-recognized engineering school, which is what I majored in at first.
3-did you know exactly what you were going to major in?
When I first came here, yeah. At first I wanted to go into music, but by the time I was actually applying to colleges, I realized music wasn't gonna be a profitable, reliable career for me. So I went with engineering because I was good at math and science :P
4-did you switch majors?
Yep! After two years of engineering, I realized that I had zero interest in the career itself. So I switched into biology in order to get ready for med school, which I'll be applying to in a couple months!
5-did you have any activities you were involved in?
Yeah. Mainly jazz band, all four years so far. Been lots of fun.
6-what differences did you see between college students and high school students?
Maturity, mostly. Less acne too.
7-did you quit or pause school for any one reason or another?
Not yet, haha.
Yes.
2-did you know exactly where you wanted to go to college?
Yep. only applied to one, in fact.
3-did you know exactly what you were going to major in?
I was torn between two that are both in the field i want to work in eventually.
4-did you switch majors?
Yes, from electrical engineering to mechanical engineering. I'm going to work in robotics eventually so it didn't matter a whole lot.
5-did you have any activities you were involved in?
Started a Waffle Club, ran video game tournaments, spent time drifting around Psych Club and Street Dance Club.
6-what differences did you see between college students and high school students?
A ton. College students are much more grown-up in a lot of ways even if they retain some immaturity. You gain a ton of freedom in college and what you do with it finally matters. You can finally be whatever you want to be.
7-did you quit or pause school for any one reason or another?
Nope. Graduating in december :D
2-Sort of. It was a long process.
3-Not really until after my first year. Still deciding if this is the major for me.
4-Yep. Thought about nursing but went to computer science.
5- Not really. Maybe I should go to the anime club sometime.
6-Eh not a lot really. It's sort of the same though.
7-Nope though sometimes I really feel about it.
2. Pretty much. I knew I wanted to do design work, but couldn't afford the well known schools (CalArts, Cranbrook, RISD). That left state universities, and when I found out about the internship programs at U. of Cincinnati, it was a no-brainer where to apply.
3. I was dead-set on Industrial Design. It looked super cool and fun to design chairs and cars and things.
4. I switched majors after six months after realizing that all of my classmates were car jocks and that I had no interest in the engineering side of industrial design. My roommates were all in graphic design and it looked much more my speed, so I switched.
5. I was in the marching band and pep band, but didn't do that for long -- my schoolwork was really intense and I couldn't balance it with hours of nightly band practice. Later on I worked on the school paper for several years and really enjoyed myself.
6. There were no cliques -- no preps/nerds/jocks. Just people starting a new life with new friends and doing their best at classes, trying hard to do what they want to do with their lives. High school was split between all these stupid drama-tastic social circles. College was just Greek, Non-Greek, and Guys On Sports Teams. Much simpler. And unlike high school, it was suddenly cool to be smart.
7. No, school and internships were pretty much year round for five years of my degree.
