Why don't you just reinstall Windows? You might not have any hardware issues at all. :P

Well, consider this: you could get your PC fixed now and have it be usable. :P

And you're right, that's a very tempting possibility. If the fix doesn't work however, it be could be up to three weeks before I have a replacement and can resume any sort of work.
