Paypal Alternatives

Well, I still have a Paypal account, but it's best to be prepared-- with all the stories I've heard about Paypal accounts shutting down, I thought I'd better have a few alternatives lined up just in case.
So, just so everyone knows-- I also have an Alertpay account and an Amazon Payments account, and if my Paypal account ever goes away I can be paid with those.
Safety in numbers, I guess-- any major payment service is big and bureaucratic and runs the risk that you'll be a victim of crappy customer service at some point... but the more options you have, the better.

Paypal is draconic about their service being used for "adult purposes" ... so the best thing is for YOU to invoice the person for payment, that way you control what information is sent out and you try to ensure that nothing "adult" or anything associated with "furry" is mentioned.

Well, Amazon Payments has the option of an "alias"-- a name you can use instead of an email address to get paid with-- but I am not sure yet whether it keeps both the payer's and payee's real names completely hidden. I'll have to ask Zmey to set up his own account and test it out a little.

Oh, I hope so. I mean, i understand how being able to hide your RL iD makes law enforcement agencies nervous, but in this age of identity theft, cyber-stalking and so forth, it's just becoming an essential service. And I'm not asking for my RL ID to be withheld from legitimate authorities like law enforcement or taxation officers, just from ordinary members of the public.
