1.Twilight Sparkle (OMG I'M SO SURPRISED BY THIS! NOT! I know the show's intentional effect is to be OMG THIS SHOW IS ABOUT MEEEE! but literally, I can relate to Twilight Sparkle hardcore, easily moreso than all the others.)
1. Rarity (I wouldn't peg myself as that character type since I'm not so full of myself, but I've been able to directly relate with her sense of obligation and artistry in a few episodes, such as the fashion show one XDXDXD Then again, I can say that about basically any pony, and that's really the point of the show.)
2. Fluttershy
2. Rainbow Dash (lol I know this test is stupid, but no one should be equally Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. WTF)
3. Applejack (This is one this test was particularly stupid about. LOL DO YOU HAVE FRECKLES AND AN ACCENT? She should really be higher on the list, but stupid test is stupid.)
4. Pinkie Pie (Not surprised at all. I actually thought I would flat out hate the character going in, she's so anti-me, but she's actually a very nicely conceived character-- as they all are, really.)

I appreciate the extra thought they put into both the characters' personalities and the world-building. It's still a bit vapid plot-wise as kids' shows often are (at least it doesn't pretend it's not a kids' show-- or at least as far as I've watched), but it strikes me as often more down-to-earth on things. In my opinion, it has a real strength in forming relatable characters and situations. It's nothing to get all hot and bothered about, but I do find that aspect of it quite refreshing.
The animation, while I personally find it pretty, is no great art. Though that's hard to find in a television series regardless, considering budget/time constraints. The fact that they're still working in 2D at all is admirable.
It's kind of unfair to compare it to the golden age of 2D animation, since that age is kind of (sadly) in the past. We know it, even a lot of the low-budget stuff, rocked the socks off anything now. Even if there is a 2D revival, I guarantee it's going to be filled with CG shortcuts-- it's not going to ever be the same. No one's ever going to be hand drawing stuff like the spinning blooming roses (or whatever, it's been a while) in Thief and the Cobbler again, because budget. They could barely do it back then, in fact, because budget. XD
I mean, it's certainly not some Newgrounds sludge. XD

Unless it was like, the Eragon movie. Then you might as well get off the computer and attempt something else, like reading a book or something.
