Aside from Don't Hug Cacti and Onefurall, what other makers do you recommend?

I did have a question that I should have asked. To get a full suit, a duct tape dummy is needed. What do commissioners need to design the head? Just simple measurements? My head is freakishly large, so that makes me a bit nervous :)

Sometimes not... if they have tailor backgrounds, they usually don't need them.. like One Fur All but I'm pretty sure DHC will need one. As for your head, just simple measurements. :P

One more question. Who was that maker that makes suits quickly? You know, in case I get the shakes and I want one ASAP. I can't remember the name, but the quality seemed up there.

I also asked if they have a discount for artistic freedom. They said yes to the artistic freedom part, but no mention whatsoever on a discount.

I think I'll just send inquiry emails to all makers that have 3 or more reviews on  fursuitmakerrevierws. Speaking of which, what's your opinion on some of the more popular ones, like MadeFurYou?

MFY is pretty darn good! Constantly changing... their style has definitely shifted this past year. Definitely toony is their way, and they definitely offer partials. Take a look! And I forgot to add a disclaimer to my statement: a lot do, and some don't offer artistic freedom discounts--ALWAYS good to ask though!

I also made a post a couple of days ago on reddit regarding this, in the fursuit sub (reddit.com/r/fursuit). I got some pointers from a few very experienced suiters as well as references to makers I hadn't heard of before.

The person--killercacti on Reddit--are great suggestions. does some awesome toony work, too! Check them all out, ask them questions! :)

I'll tell him to pass it on--or friend you later! :D I do plan on getting it sometime this weekend... but we'll see. :) There is a meet in Brattleboro but I don't see us going to that or any until after AC ourselves BUT you're going to WTFur anyway... so that might be your next big "outing" to see more fursuiting in action!

D3 is pretty nice, now that all of the launch event server crap is resolved!

I would think about going to AC myself if I wasn't already going to WTF and Bronycon in the same month.

 wolfbird was at WtF as was  darixd, who got a dragon suit from her. It was really awesome complete with wings. I'll have to keep her in mind as she's up in Quebec and not over Toronto like they all seem to be :)

What do you think of  firestormsix? This fursuit head is absolutely stunning!

His heads are a balaclava/foam-based head.. the jaw is very snappy, the head very light. Wonderful construction--highly recommended! I know you were slightly indifferent to the follow-me eyes but if you like his style, I'd do it! :)

I like the bigger, cartoony follow-me eyes a lot. I think I prefer those over normal toon eyes or "normal" follow-me ones like what you have on your head.

I hope there are some makers at WtF next week. I need to get my grubby paws on some instead of just drooling over photos online.

Actually, Scribble does them at any size you want :P Same with Firestorm Six! I'm sure the con will give you a better taste/spectrum, as well. :)

I've been looking at a ton of makers, though unfortunately some of them don't have reviews. What do you think of Kodimade (www.kodimade.com)? I'm going to be emailing him a few things, but there aren't much in the way of reviews.

I have no reference art
Looking for a full suit if possible, but I'd like to get a partial and upgrade to a full suit later if it doesn't break the band
Follow-me eyes
Movable jaw is desired, though it seems not a lot of makers have those
Lots of ventilation (nose, mouth, ears; I plan on running around a lot) Blower fans in the ears or muzzle would be awesome!
Haven't decided on digitigrade or plantigrade. Digitigrade might not work out too well for being very active.

Your maker, One Fur All, seems pretty good, but his prices are VERY high.

I'm very interested in  firestormsix, but they're booked solid for pretty much the rest of the year.

I was also recommended www.bycats4cats.com from someone at WtF. They do everything now, but most of their stuff is still cats.

Well, it's going to probably boil down to what you find aesthetically pleasing at this point. :P

Kodi's work all kind of looks the same but if you like that toony style of his.. then that's what you're paying for! :) Take a look at his gallery and you'll see what I mean.

Media does 2D eyes it seems mostly but has a range of facial expressions/detailing but as far as moving jaw.. I don't recall. DHC's jaws slightly move but it's not hinged (so.. no here :p). Same with MFY, Kilcodo, wolfbird, kodipup, and.. pretty much everyone in this list except for FS6 and OFA.

I.. could be wrong though but from my recollections that's how it is. ;P As for any other questions in regards to suits, why not send notes to people who bought from those respective artists to give you an idea on ventilation/other dying questions, too? :D
