Excerpt (first chapter) From my story Never Forgotten.
“…It’s been five years…five years since Sasuke was taken by Orichimaru.” The blond boy said in a sad tone.
"Don’t be sad Kib. He’ll be back in no time." purred the nine tailed demon.
“Don’t say something that isn’t true, Kyuubi. It’s been five years. FIVE YEARS! I COULD’VE BROUGHT HIM BACK BY NOW! But I’m too weak to fight…”
The once hyperactive blonde boy, who was so full of energy, has fallen harder and faster than a faltering star. Kyuubi shook her head slightly, a sigh escaping her lips as she thought of the appropriate words to say to the young ninja
"I hate seeing you like this Kib, what happened to your won't let anything get me down attitude?"
“When Sasuke left, all my happiness went with him…” Naruto stated, almost in tears.
"Naruto, you say you love him, then why don't you go and find him?" Kyuubi inquired curiously.
“What’s the point? They’re long gone by now. It’s not right, it just isn’t right. I thought he loved me...”
Narutos head turned near the door as he heard several rapid knocks raping against his door.
“It’s Itachi, open up.” Barked the outcast Uchiha son.
Naruto stood up from his seated position and walked leisurely to the door, his brow furrowed in thought "I wonder what he wants,” Naruto twisted the door knob and opened the door partially, his eye brow quirked up slightly "What do you want Itachi? It's unusual for you to come by and visit anyone, especially me." he cautiously stated.
“I need to make a little trip, do you think you would be interested in tagging along?”
“Go with you? To an unknown destination? Is this some sort of joke, Itachi?”
“No joke. I just want some pleasurable company so to say.”
Naruto frowned slightly at his last statement. He mulled it over in his mind for a few moments before answering. He left the door ajar as he retreated back to grab his zori, so that he wouldn't be wandering around barefoot.
"Alright Itachi, lead the way"
“Sure.” Said the Uchiha with a smirk.
The two had walked some distance from Naruto's home. Plenty of on lookers from the villagers whispered among themselves as they watched the two walked side by side. It gave Naruto an uneasy feeling but after a while he had turned to Itachi with a bit of a scowl.
"Where the hell are we going Itachi?"
Itachi smirked slightly and looked at him with a slight laugh. “Well here we are Uzamaki." He waved his hand around to give a broad view of the house.
“Why are we at Sasukes house...?” Naruto was looking down with his fist tightly clenched. His knuckles turned white from the pressure he applied to the balled up fist, his face burning and eyes stinging with the threat of tears.
“I want you to help me with some stuff in the house.” Itachi stated blatantly.
“I can’t help you move his stuff out..."
That was the only set of words Naruto was able to choke out as he tried to hold back the sobs that were rising in his throat.
“Ha! We’re not moving his stuff out. You're going to help me clean the house," Itachi rotated his neck side to side, subtle cracking noises heard as it maneuvered left and right, a soft sigh of relief falling from his lips. "That’s what's I’ve been doing these last couple of years. I miss my brother Naruto..." Itachi turned to him with his lids lowered slightly so that the red hue of the constantly activated Sharingan seemed to glow a deeper and almost blood like red. "I mean it may seem like I’m cold to him but I still love him none the less…”
“Well, I know how you feel. I miss him too, but I can’t clean right now. " He looked Itachi in the eyes for a few moments before he decided to reply. "The crying gave me a bit of a headache. I think a few moments of resting will relieve it if anything."
Itachi gave a brief nod as he turned to open the door to the abandoned house. He kicked off his shoes and laid them side by side by the inside of the front entrance, Naruto following close behind him. Naruto looked around with a sad smile on his face before he walked upstairs to the bedrooms. He flopped down on the bed and let out a light groan, his eyes closed slightly. Downstairs, Itachi scowled slightly in annoyance. He knew the boy was stronger than that, but a simple headache had bedded him.
"You better not stay sleep too long Uzamaki! I will need your help with the basement area, it is a mess and will require both of us!" Itachi had yelled that upstairs, loud enough so that the boy would hear him.
Naruto had turned over sleepily. He had heard Itachi but he was so close to his slumber that he just nestled his face into his pillow and gave a airy yawn.
"Hmm..alright Itachi..."
