Howdy Furs. If you don't know me, I'm Anna. I'm 20. I live up in the mountains of Northern Nevada.
I wanna be serious with you all right now for just a bit.
5/14, 3:30 am. I'm driving back home from a furparty (yes, i was sober) up a windy mountain highway. I had just hit the 24 hour mark, as I woke up at 4:30 for work on mothers day. Yes, I'm sleepy. But I thought I could make it.
4 am. Obviously I didn't make it. I came to coming off the shoulder of the road and ran into plenty of bushes and over a snowpole. Quickly I pulled the car up out of the shoulder, slammed the brakes, and did a 180 degree drifting turn all the way over to the other side of the highway where I parked, and called 911.
5 am. The police are still there (no report, I didn't do anything illegal) letting me sit in their car as I call insurance and whatnot. Turns out Progressives idea of the "best plan for me" was purely liability insurance. This means they wouldn't pay for a tow truck. They wouldn't pay if I got hurt. And they sure as hell weren't going to pay for my car.
In the end, I wanted to talk about the dangers of fatigued driving. I wasn't thinking straight but I knew I wasn't okay.
Just DON'T DO IT. Like drunk driving, it's DANGEROUS and you don't always know what you're doing!
Pull off into a turn-out, take a quick nap! Or park, and run circles around your car. Or do what I was too cheap to do, and check into a hotel for the night. In the end, a $100 stay would have been far preferable to the 4.3k I'm now facing in repairs. I bent the frame, I ripped my suspension rod in half on both sides, I hit the oil-pan and my headlights don't work. My radiator suspension is pulled over to one side, and there's surely a slew of other things that went wrong.
Also, INSURANCE! We all have to have basic insurance to drive. But how many of us know what that actually means? I barely do, and it's gotten me in quite the unpleasant hole. Check to see what you're covered for, or have a friend with more experience see if you know what exactly you're paying for, BEFORE you need them.
So, the whole unpleasant end of this. I'm in a bit of a bind. I only have about 1k in my account right now, because I just bought this 2000 subaru two months ago for 9k. I still owe my mother 4k on it. I'm waiting on another thousand from tax returns, and a couple hundred here and there from money owed, etc.
If there is anyone who can find it in their hearts to donate a couple bucks for the cause, or if I've done art for you in the past and you liked it enough to think about tipping, it looks like i'll be living off my shoestrings for a while.

Can't help that way? THAT'S OKAY!! I've had so many kind words and love from every angle through this, it's made all the difference in keeping me out of depression and keeping me motivated!
Pimping this journal would also really help! The more furs see it, the better my chances at getting through this smoothly.
Thank you, everyfur, for your kind support in times of need!
