While I still thing the ending itself is fine, while searching for reasons why people didn't like the ending, one thing set me off a huge amount.
Hudson: ...At this point we’re taking into account so many decisions that you’ve made as a player and reflecting a lot of that stuff. It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C.....The endings have a lot more sophistication and variety in them.”
-Interview with Casey Hudson (Director)
I wasn't aware this was said before ME3 came out. This is a blatant lie on the part of the bioware team.
The endings were exactly A B and C. And I can now understand how more hardcore fans (who no doubt read this interview) would be extremely pissed off at the ending.

"Devs have finally realized it is cheaper to pour money into marketing than it is to put those dollars on fulfilling their promises. This is what gaming has become, enjoy."
Many bigger devs have been called on blatant lies such as this many a time, Blizzard and BioWare (Especially over the whole SWTOR ordeal) being chief offenders of this. I think it is sad, people around my age grew up with the rise of vidya games, and some day we will tell our kids what they used to be like... Don't get me wrong, beacons of light and innovation still pop up here and there, but a vast majority of games have begun to cater to extremely simplistic gameplay...
That game screws with your mind man.
