Country roads (a story from this last weekend)

Journal starts with J :D
Over the weekend I went to boston with a bunch of my friends and we were heading onto the red line when a woman started singing and playing a small guitar in the subway. She seemed very nervous and asked if people would like to hear a song in Japanese which was her first language. We sat and listened to her as we waited for the next train and put some of the money into the guitar case and she thanked us. Finally before we left she started to sing the song country roads in Japanese, and since I knew the song in japanese I started to sing with her! Her face lit up with joy and she seemed more comfortable than before now that we were singing together. By the end of the song one of my friends joined in with the english lyrics and a few others hummed along, before long many people were watching us and listening as we sang happily together. Sadly we had to get onto the train to leave and waved goodbye as she sang the last few verses and people applauded our singing.
When we went back home on the red line 3 hours later the train we were on rushed by the stop we sang at, she was still their singing happily with people around her.
Just sharing this story because it really makes me happy that people can connect so well with music!
