I took care of my phone....until I had a brain fart a couple of days ago and jumped into a pool with it still in my swim trunks!

Had you immediately removed the battery and dried it out, it'd still have been usable. Happened with my dad's blackberry and the sink...

I dried it out the best I could, even put it in rice, but it's not working. I guess it was because I was stupid enough to try an turn it on the moment I got it out of the water. *sighs*

Did you try submerging it in 91% isopropyl, and letting the isopropyl evaporate away? I've heard of that working even when rice didn't work. Just put the phone face-down in a container, pour isopropyl over it until the phone is submerged, then let all the isopropyl evaporate away.

This may sound stupid, but where can I get 91% isopropyl?

Walmart has it in their pharmacy section, or Kmart probably the same, or Walgreens, or CVS, or try at the grocery store even. Many places have it. The 91% is much preferable over the 70% version, and I'd recommend against using the 50% version if you run across it somewhere.

and yes i'm a VERY old fan of "keeping care" of my items... the newest-tech phone i have has a 1.3 MP camera, it flips open (so retro-2000's...), and fits entirely in my palm, almost so even when flipped open.

but that's been like every phone i've ever had- save the first two that didnt even flip open or have cameras...

but no, i digress, the reason this phone is high-tech is.... I HAS TEXTING! finally :3

but i'm not so good at it :( turns out due to my bad spelling, dyslexia, and generally bad type skills.... i need a keyboard to text anywhere near decently :'(

*shrugs* no big... the phone cost me $45 (well... technically was free.) so i'm not about to throw that away :)
