Well, I use photoshop Cs5. Although it does cost money, there is always a place where you can get it for free.

www.thepiratebay.org is where I got mine. Of course, you'll need Win-Zip or 7Zip and a torrent program. (I use Bit Torrent, it's completely free just Google.)

But, if you don't want to do any of that, you could always just download Paint Tool Sai. Most professionals use it. That, you can just Google and you can get that for free with no hassle as well.

And there's Gimp, Also free. It's like CS5 but it has less features.


And I would recommend downloading(Saving) a Reference sheet that another artist provides. They have them on here and Google Images.
Just type "Reference line art". A bunch of stuff comes up. But make sure if you use any of those, you give the original artist credit!
