Convention Stuff and Work

Well, it appears the Doubletree hotel for Further Confusion 2009 has already filled their room block. And whoops, we hadn't gotten a reservation in yet. We'll be staying off-site in whatever other hotel is nearest, it looks like. Our table reservations were sent off with payment, so that's good. I have to start making the convention season gameplan, for A-Kon 2008, Anthrocon 2008 and Mephit Furmeet 2008. I don't know if we can squeeze any other conventions in, unless they are local. (Read: in Texas, in driving distance.)
August comic release information must be sent off to Diamond this week also, so I am working on that today. Soliciting Genus #88, as per our new alternating schedule with Furrlough and Genus.
We're still working on Milk #62 and Furrlough #182. Furrlough #181 is still at the printers. Also to do this week: more work in the storage units, as we collect freebies for A-Kon.
Now would be a good time for artists to start thinking about Hit the Beach 2008 submissions- the deadline is June 1st. If you sent us a piece last year (when we had to postpone the book because of the printer switchover mess), don't worry about it, that one will be your submission. As always, all submissions need to go to Will at willworks (at) gmail (dot) com. Page dimensions and such can be found on our forum.
Also of interest on the forum, the Top 100 Furrlough stories for March, as voted on by the readers. There's a follow-up post in there that tracks some more to 225.
In fangirl news, I couldn't wait and saw the season finale of Torchwood, which made me very sad. But then I saw the new season opener of Doctor Who and was made cheerful again! I love David Tennant. Also, I like Catherine Tate's Donna as a Companion. I am a happy, happy nerd girl today.
Random Fact of the Day: San Antonio is now #2 on the Fattest Cities in America list. We are the Buffet Kings here after all...

But man, there was no way it could come out in 2007. We were so hammered by that printer mess it wasn't even funny. I love our new printers, though! They are great to work with, mostly because they actually are interested in keeping us as customers.
