I think the top bar could use a LEETLE more graphic design to it, perhaps a border or some spacing between the monthly banner.

Aye, the banner could use a little bit of separation from the top. And the ads seem kind of just 'stuck' there. But in terms of functionality it's a big improvement!

As it stands, in my view as a designer it feels like a ripoff of Deviantart.
If it did the same thing and looked better, then it would be an imitation or in the style of dA, but this doesn't look like the case. To me it just feels like the coding team's outright aped DA's rollover-to-drop-down menu system and the spacing and display formats of the gallery.

It feels a little clumsy, though I'm fairly certain it'll improve as they troubleshoot. It's only been a day or two since it went live.

I've heard some mobile clients are having troubles with it; which is weird since my 2nd gen iPod touch running 3G software runs the new site really well.
