What do you think?
I was just watching this TED talk by Temple Grandin on how different modes of thinking, particularly autism spectrum types, are valuable to society, and I kind of got smacked in the face with something I'd never considered before. So I wanted to ask for some input.
Specifically. do you think in words or in images? Of course I don't mean specifically "can you imagine a picture?", but like she says in the talk, do you think primarily verbally, or with visual images/movie-like sequences/etc?

And I think even verbal thinkers dream visually, so maybe that's why most people seem to think dreams are so alien and weird?
Example:
"Customer!"= I see that customer in my head and I automatically visualize what they ordered.
Boss-man tells me he needs carrots chopped, I flash-forward through all the different chopping methods I know, til I see the right one.
When I'm at home, I think in my own head in voices and tones. Repeating stuff in different "voices" in my head lets me evaluate what I'm saying or about to type, like hearing someone else read it out loud in my head.
Does that make any sense?
Also voices. I often (especially lately) tend to think in voices, instead of words or images.
But I tend to prefer visualization when comes to most things; especially when imagining my OCs and their tribulations.
This extends to reading as well. I read everything as if it's read aloud in my mind. I do see what's going on in my head when reading, but I can't read without actually hearing the words. If I do it becomes very difficult/distracting. With practice perhaps I could but the verbal processing of the word is always there. I don't just scan the words and absorb the meaning without that audio processing kicking in.
I had minor Asperger's as a kid. Right now I want to watch it, but I have to wait for family to rest so I can listen to it in silence. I will post a comment reply to this one to elaborate my reaction to the talk! Thanks a ton for the link!
