Famitsu has some major Atlus news this week. The magazine reveals that development has started on Shin Megami Tensei IV. The target for this latest numbered entry in the Megaten franchise is 3DS.

According to Sinobi, who gets Famitsu in advance, Atlus will open an official site for the game at megaten4.jp tomorrow.

Observing a minor cleave now: Purseowners in the Sony zone, Megatenuts huddling up under Nintendo’s brolly. I’d be lying if I wasn’t disappointed it’s not on a gloriously-graphical home console. (Starting to look like Persona 5 will get it.)

Though it makes sense to have these things on portables, at least to me. You can hardly imagine the likes of Pokemon benefiting all that much from being developed for tethered-at-home consoles.

Shut your whore mouth, PRODUCTION VALUES HD POKEMON WOULD RULE SO HARD.
