Cof-nuzzled 2012

I'm flying back home to Brisbane on Friday June 1 (GMT time), so my holiday's nearly at an end.
Overall I've had a blast in the UK. Saw a few more parts of London that I hadn't seen before, visited bits of Brum and Hinckley, attended Confuzzled and went to Alton Towers themepark.
I've gotta thank the UK furs for their hospitality in both showing me a good time and giving me places to stay. In particular Yarwick, who's kindly put up with the vagueries and flexibilities of my itinerary. Muchly appreciated!
Brumcon before CF was tremendous fun, even if my head did struggle to wrap itself around the notion that friends I've met in the UK, the EU, Australia and the US were there at a busy house party in the middle of Birmingham. "What are you doing here?! You're a fur I only ever see at FC!", says my internal voice. And so on. Fun party. :) Some very cool new faces and some favourite old faces too. :)
The birthday hamper from Shay and Akuro was delicious. :3 Thanks guys!
CF itself was really fun. Caught up with old friends, made some new ones (especially with Utlah pointing all the bikerfurs), and put real faces to virtual names. :) Drank too much, socialised too much, had a blast. :) I only suited up twice, partly due to Atpaw needing some more maintenance, me not being reaaaaaaaally happy with how Atpaw looks these days, and having too much fun being social out of suit.
I had the most fun simply catching up with friends in the bars, chatting for hours about things furry and things not so furry.
The CF staff put on a pretty well-polished event. The attention to detail of the theming and conbook and so on really impressed me (Australian cons fall short in this regard). The hotel had plenty of good socialising spaces too. Though even the rooms *with* aircon didn't seem any cooler than the prevailing super-warm temperatures elsewhere both indoors and out.
What else...
Travelodge Con at Ashbourne, which included fun events such as exploring a paddock by the river, throwing handfuls of self-adhesive weeds at one anothers' clothing, and having quite-excellent pizza at a Doner-Kebab shop in Ashbourne.
What a strange way to spend my birthday. :)
And Alton Towers, which is host to quite a few really fun rollercoasters and some interesting rides we don't have in Australia. It still does my head in that the castle isn't some crappy heavy-plywood facade between the public areas and Backstage, but is between 1300 and 200 years old in its present form. :P
But yeah, it's been a tremendous two weeks. Wish I could have stayed longer, but I have to get back to work!
